pass the popcorn

eli went to see his first movie...cars. as you can see in the photo...he was enthralled with it. i don't think he really got the storyline but he did enjoy all the action. 

nobody's perfect

well...mommy decided the first hat was just too cute and wanted to make another one that would fit me farther down the road. unfortunately, mommy misjudged the true size of my noggin...and...well...the pictures tell you the rest.






better luck on the next time around. off to try to knit another one...again. i'll try this time to judge the sizing a little bit better. oops :)

it's too close to bedtime to model

here andy & eli are modeling their matching hats, handknitted by april. eli wasn't too thrilled about having a modeling gig right before bedtime....but aren't they cute? 

baby bites

eli got his first taste of solid food tonight. three little spoonfuls of rice cereal. yummy! i think most of it spilled back out of his mouth, but he seemed to like it. i think these photos capture the true experience of it all.

4 month check up with the doc

eli turned 4 months today and had to go for his checkup. he was a true champ! here is what his the true experience of what our little guy had to go through.
we got into the office and as always...strip him down to his diaper! we think that eli truly enjoys hanging out in the ice cold doctor's office pretty much naked.

first things first...weigh in time...today eli weighed in at 14 lbs 4oz. he is getting to be so big.
next...how tall am i dad? 25 3/4 inches. wow! what a length this kid has for 4 months old.
nurse...why do you have that cold thing on my chest? eli watched intently as the nurse listened to his heart and lungs. i think he was even cooing at her...so i am not sure she was able to hear more than ooooo.....goooo. 

the worst part is yet to come eli...sorry

eli then had to chill out while we waited for the doctor to come in. he actually had a blast hanging out on the table with that great crinkly white paper. it was so much fun.
you are going to do what?

then came the immunizations. 3 shots in his little legs. he screamed bloody murder and turned the brightest shade of red that i have ever seen. we felt horrible. i even wanted to cry. but it subsided after a few minutes of cuddling and then the visit was over.

to sum up our doctors visit...eli is a healthy 4 month old baby. no problems. he is average for his weight and head size and is 75th on his length. we have one skinny tall little boy...for now. the doctor even let us know that eli can start being fed baby food if we want. eli liked the sound of that. he has been eyeing our food for weeks now and can't wait to taste some for himself. so look for the first food photos to follow soon.

breakfast with grandma & grandpa ray

eli decided that he can't wait till he can eat the fantastic breakfasts that his grandma always prepares. even samee was rubbing it in that it was ummmmm...delicious!

eli definitely got a lot of family time this weekend. this kid is going to be SPOILED! i think we are in trouble.
