the cutting of the band

as we said...the wristband stays on until ethan comes home.  andy's took a beating and came off last week, but mine endured the time (barely).  the nurses were impressed that we kept them on this whole time.  eli had the honors of cutting my band off last night.  we promised him this whole time that he could do it...so we had to document the cutting of the band.

homecoming

ethan came home yesterday and eli couldn't have been a prouder big brother.  i wish i would have had my camera in the front seat with me b/c eli had a grin from ear to ear when we put ethan in his carseat next to him.  it was adorable!!  but these photos do capture eli's enthusiasm with finally getting to touch his little brother.  he didn't even nap yesterday b/c he was so amped up about his brother being home.  he even got up in the middle of the night last night and had trouble going back to sleep with us b/c he was concerned with ethan.  too cute but eli come on you need your sleep too.

the night was a little rough...we need to figure out ethan and his feeding.  especially his breastfeeding...he does well but we are unsure if he gets enough and then to supplement is difficult and a long process.  needless to say we got a few hours of sleep last night...that's it!  andy was definitely a trooper and got up with ethan at 11pm and then stayed up with him at a little before 4am till he went to work.  we will see how today goes...hopefully a little smoother.

great news

ethan finally pooped!!! the latest news is that he may be home as early as tomorrow or wednesday at the latest.  he hopefully (well in my thinking of him getting released but i am sure he won't feel the same) is getting circumcised today...so if all is well...the doctor may let him come home tomorrow.  i will make sure to post some coming home photos as soon as we get some taken.

a big thank you goes out to all of our family and friends for being so supportive during this whole endeavor.  we really owe a thank you to grandma carol, andy's mom, for dedicating her mornings to coming over and playing with eli while i have been going over t0 the hospital.  eli is going to go through grandma withdraw after tomorrow.  i am not sure what he is going to do with himself.  but THANK YOU  THANK YOU  THANK YOU to everyone.  i can't wait to show photos of our boy at home.
