backyard shower turns to mayhem

we decided to give ethan an outdoor shower b/c he had dirt all over him on the 4th.  he loved it and he loved the craziness that occurred when he took control of the hose.  what power!  it was pretty hilarious to watch the smallest child nail the older/bigger ones with the hose.  they thought it was great too!

lil' pirates camp @ franklin park conservatory

eli and his good buddy, jack, just wrapped up their week at lil' pirates camp at the franklin park conservatory.  they had a blast and i have to say it was worth the money.  lots of exciting fun and their treasure hunts took them to some exotic locations.  i think ethan would have fit right in at this camp (as you can see from the photos above).  sorry ethan maybe in a couple of years when you are old enough.

ethan's first haircut

so the time has come...ethan is need of a haircut. his first...dun dun du dun.  the decision was made since the curl nest was happening in the back of his head daily and the mullet is getting a bit out of control.

so i decided that cookie cutters was the place to do my dirty work since i am too chicken to do it myself at this age.  they were awesome (yet again...this women do wonders with little wiggle worms and screamers) and i have to say the double sucker is highly recommended as a means of distraction with this guy.  no major tears and only one moment of contortion climbing occurred.  so overall huge success (although we didn't go that short...i'm not ready to cut all the curls off). he did a lot better than i expected him too (and shhh...he did better than eli did during his first haircut.  but i give eli the benefit b/c we went shorter with his hair which meant more cutting).
