our little man is resting well. he was given his first feeding today. as you all can see, our little man has been hooked up to a cpap machine to help remind and make it easier for him to breath. he is still breathing room air, but this machine just makes it a little easier for him when he lapses (which is totally normal for this gestational age out of the womb). they are monitoring him tonight and going to take the machine off once he has gotten it down a little bit more. he lays quietly in his little incubator all toasty warm while it is freezing outside and snowing. his little skin is so wrinkled and hairy. as andy has pointed out, our little man has a beard (which will fall out over time). he also has pretty hairy legs right now. hopefully tomorrow i will be able to get a better up close photo of his adorable little face minus all the tubes.
tonight he sleeps peacefully under the watchful eyes of the OSU NICU staff. keep him safe and warm.
