eli's trip

eli and i just returned from our trip to cape coral, florida to
visit bill and amy branson for a long weekend. a big thanks
to both of them for letting us interrupt their daily lives with
the hectic life of having a six month old around.

eli did great on the flight down there...fell asleep during take
off and slept for the whole 2 1/2 hour flight including the
landing. who knew that all i had to do to get him to sleep
for a long nap was buy a plane ticket! everyone in florida
oogled and awed over how cute he is...you'd think they've
never had a cute baby in florida before (although i must
say, eli is the cutest baby ever...all of eli's friends are a
close second...at least in our eyes). we went shopping, of
course, so amy could adorn eli with some cool threads (later
photos to model them off...i'm sure!) and we took a short visit
to the beach (too darn hot for us ohioans). eli was so excited to
finally see what makes those sounds he hears while drifting off
every night...waves...COOL! although we found out that eli
doesn't like to actually experience the waves...absolute freak
out when the waves touched his feet. he'll have to get used to
those waves...surfing with uncle chris is in his future. eli really
got a kick out of cole and sebastian (amy and bill's cats) although
they were not thrilled with eli's presence.

after four days, we returned home. return flight not so restful for
mommy. eli dozed off during take off but that was only to last
for 40 minutes then it was play time! he was a dream and was
having so much fun smiling at all the patrons on the plane. we were
greeted at the airport by daddy and eli gave the largest smiles ever!
he really missed his daddy and samee too!

so back to daily life...the vacation is over...well the visit is over! thanks
again bill and amy...we had a blast and can't wait to see you all again soon!
next trip...california (hopefully).
