34 days old and ethan has hit 34 weeks

so today ethan hits 34 weeks gestational age at his 34th day of life.  he is doing great and is up to 4lbs 14 1/2oz as of this morning.  at this rate he will be 5lbs this weekend.  and since he has hit the "34 week" gestational age he should begin to get the suck, breath, swallow reflexes to be able to begin bottle feeding and the nurses will begin to really push him to do this.  he did manage (with some persistence from one of the nurses) to get a whole feeding yesterday morning from a bottle, but his oxygen levels when wacky during this whole process.  the nurse really pressed on so she wouldn't have to put the tube down his throat with him being upset.  kudos to her!!  however, they haven't pushed him to try again yet.  that will change today ethan prepare yourself.  so keep your fingers crossed because as soon as he proves that he can bottle feed and gets off his morning shot of caffine....he can come home!!!  we are thinking two more weeks probably.  we can't wait!  eli is getting more and more excited now and actually went up to see his brother the other day.  we ask him if ethan is really big and he replies..."no...he is really small, but he is getting bigger and bigger everyday."  too cute!
