eli's first day of camp

eli had his first day of camp at Camp Terra (Antrim Park).  we rode our bikes there and he just took his time this morning taking in all the nature on the bike path (unlike the usual speeding little legs).  i don't know if it was because it was early (8am) or nerves (which he would never admit), but it took us about 45+ minutes to get there and it took me 25 minutes to get home hauling ethan and the little bike in the bike trailer behind.

we awaited his buddy jack's arrival sitting on the curb, but BOOM as soon as jack arrived eli was off showing him where to put his backpack and they didn't even look back to say goodbye.  we waited a few minutes to watch as all the kids sat to listen to the director go over the rules & theme of the week.  eli raised is hand in a moment of silence and said, "can i tell you something?" no one acknowledged his request so he awaited patiently for the next opportunity.  it came and he pounced.  he once again exclaimed with his little hand in the air, "can i tell you something?" (and may i say it was stated in the sweetest 4 year old voice).  the director took the bait.  eli announced to the entire camp, "i'm going to be the police officer.  i've got the badge (which he just got at the st. catherine's festival from a police officer)."  it was a riot.  it then began a wave of other proclamations from other campers. they were prepared for it all today with a police officer, fireman and astronaut in the crowd. watch out antrim park camp terra is covered for anything.
i think ethan's ready for camp too!  he loves sitting on the curb everyday (this is where we wait for eli's best buddy jack).
